Position Overview

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in an acute care facility during the winter season. The ideal candidate should have emergency department experience and be prepared to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

• Start Date: ASAP
• First-Time Traveler: Yes (with ED experience)
• Patient Visits: Approximately 120 per day
• Required Experience: 2 years of hospital experience, specifically in emergency department settings

Licensing Requirements

• California State License: Required (must be active or pending at the time of application)

Weekend and Holiday Requirements

• Weekend Coverage: As needed
• Holiday Coverage: Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the emergency department
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (preferably in hand, but can be obtained prior to starting)
• Experience with Level II Trauma Centers is required

Key Skills

• General emergency department skills for adults and pediatrics
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Isolation precautions/PPE expertise
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Triage experience

Additional Information

Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities. Travelers who decline to float may face termination of assignment. All requests for time off and scheduling changes must be communicated upfront and will not be considered post-submission.

If applicable, the facility will provide necessary communication devices to perform job duties at no cost to the traveler. In cases where these devices are not provided, the agency will reimburse for work-related cell phone usage up to a maximum amount.

References: Two references covering at least one year of experience required prior to start date.
