OverviewOur client is seeking a Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure across approximately 150 U.S. office locations. This role will focus heavily on network modernization initiatives, including Meraki deployments, SD-WAN technologies, cloud networking, and network security.Required Experience3-5+ years of network engineering experience (additional experience may be considered in place of a degree)Recent hands-on networking experience in a production environmentBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related STEM field preferredMilitary experience or equivalent network-specific experience will also be consideredTechnical RequirementsNetwork engineering fundamentals, including:Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)Cisco routers and switchesTCP/IP networkingLAN/WAN design and supportCisco Meraki experience:Wireless and switch configuration/managementExperience deploying Meraki wireless solutions across multiple locationsSD-WAN experience, preferably Aruba Silver PeakNext-Generation Firewall (NGFW) experienceExperience creating and managing firewall security policies, monitoring traffic, and troubleshooting connectivity issuesAzure networking experience, including:VNetsNSG managementExperience with network security platforms such as:ZscalerNetskopePrisma AccessVPN configuration and support (Site-to-Site VPNs)Packet analysis and troubleshooting using tools such as WiresharkPreferred QualificationsCisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) or CWNAExperience with Cisco ISE and Cisco ACIPalo Alto or Cisco Firepower firewall experienceSolarWinds experienceExperience supporting enterprise data center and campus networking environmentsKey ResponsibilitiesAssist with the design, architecture, configuration, and implementation of enterprise network solutionsSupport network modernization projects, including:Replacing Cisco Catalyst switches with Meraki switchesBranch office wireless deploymentsSD-WAN infrastructure deployment and supportCollaborate with project teams to deliver networking solutions and meet project requirementsProvide Tier 3 support for network-related incidents and outagesCreate and maintain technical documentationAssist with network security initiatives, including firewall rules, routing changes, and traffic analysisSupport and train network operations teams on new technologies and processesEvaluate and help implement new networking technologies and vendor solutionsEnvironment & TechnologiesCisco Routers & SwitchesCisco MerakiAruba Silver Peak SD-WANZscalerCisco ISECisco ACIAzure NetworkingPalo Alto / Firepower FirewallsWiresharkEnterprise LAN/WAN InfrastructureAdditional InformationCompany is currently deploying Meraki switches and wireless solutions across branch officesCisco Catalyst switches are being replaced with Meraki infrastructureGoal of 6-7 network cutovers per weekTraining will be provided on Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI, and other technologies as neededPosition may require work outside normal business hours for planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency supportTop Skills: Network Engineering, Cisco Routing & Switching, Cisco Meraki, SD-WAN, Network Security, Azure Networking.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
